Pat Milliken was a great artist and teacher. SummerSongs was lucky to have him with us for a number of years. He passed away unexpectedly in April of 2010. He personified the energy and attitude that we want at camp and he was a great teacher and also a consummate artist. We all have wonderful memories of Pat and his being is a part of SummerSongs and a part of everything musical we will hear in the future. He will always be with us in spirit at camp.
Pat Milliken was a gifted American acoustic guitarist, known for pioneering the DADGAD tuning in the Santa Barbara scene during the 1970s, developing a unique Celtic/Irish-influenced style, releasing the album Motif, and leaving a legacy of intricate fingerstyle playing before his passing in 2010, remembered fondly by fellow musicians and fans.
